But those rules are difficult and inconvenient to follow, and it’s so much easier to just deny the problem exists - no matter how many bodies pile up, and no matter how horribly people die.īureaucratic indifference, personal irresponsibility, and denial are major themes in When Evil Lurks, a tremendously tense, shocking story that purposefully ignores the lines most horror doesn’t cross.
